Other output ports included on the adapter are a USB-A port (USB 3.2 Gen 1 5Gbps & BC 1.2 charging) for connecting and charging devices, and a USB-C (5Gbps Data + 100W Power Delivery 3.0) for charging your laptop or connecting to a downstream USB-C peripheral device.
The USB-C adapter has a 13 in. (34 cm) attached cable that provides extended reach that reduces port/connector strains when connected to 2-in-1 devices like Surface Pro (7+), and on laptops that are resting on riser stands. The adapter also features a compact, portable design that fits easily into your laptop bag, making it ideal for on-the-go use as travel accessory with your laptop and other portable devices.
To provide power flexibility in different applications, the USB-C multiport adapter can operate using bus power alone, or it can be connected to an external USB-C power adapter up to 100W.
The adapter features 100W Power Delivery 3.0 pass through, enabling you to charge your laptop and connected devices. When connected to a power adapter up to 92W of power are available for charging, while 8W of power are reserved for the USB-C multiport adapter, this power reserve avoids video flickering and device dropouts, caused by overdrawing power, common in other hubs, ensuring this adapter provides high-performance operation, while reliably charging your devices. When a power adapter isn't connected, this adapter operates using USB bus power, and the USB-C port where you connect your power adapter turns into a downstream 5Gbps USB Type-C port for connecting USB-C peripheral devices.
